Parchment Paper Rolls, photo 2

Parchment Paper Rolls for Benches, Pans and Wrap Stations

Parchment paper rolls are the two rolls in the first photo: one unbleached, one bleached white, each tearing off whatever length the job needs. A roll covers a full sheet pan, lines a 6 ft bench for rolling dough, or feeds a wrap station without a stack of sheets.

From $0.30 a sheet; rolls are priced by the roll on the quote. Written quote in one business day and a free design proof.

Parchment paper rolls are continuous lengths of coated parchment wound on a core, sold by width and length rather than by the sheet. You tear or cut what you need, so one roll handles pans, benches, cake drums and wraps of any length. Rolls come in bleached white or unbleached stock with a silicone or Quilon coating.

Why a roll instead of sheets

A bench for laminating dough is longer than any sheet. A roll lays a single run of parchment down a 6 ft table, and the next run tears off when the first is floured through.

For pans, a roll means one width fits every pan in the kitchen; a 15 in roll crosses a half sheet pan and tears to length for a full one. There is no case of the wrong size at the back of the shelf.

Pick width by the widest thing you line. Length is only a question of how often you want to change the roll.

What a parchment paper roll is and who uses one

The first photo shows the two stocks side by side: an unbleached roll on a brown core and a bleached white roll, each with a torn length lying flat. Both are parchment, coated for release, and only the color differs.

A roll is for the kitchen that lines many shapes. A pizzeria lines screens and peels. A bakery runs it down the bench and under cake drums. A smokehouse wraps a brisket. A meal-prep kitchen lines every tray in one pass and cuts between them.

Sheets suit a line that uses one pan all day. Rolls suit everything else, and a kitchen with a dozen pan shapes usually keeps one roll and one case of sheets. There is a parchment rolls range page that puts both roll products side by side.

How does a roll behave under heat and on the bench?

Paper off a roll keeps a curl. Lay it coated side down, run a hand along it, and the weight of the pan flattens it. In a convection oven the fan lifts a loose end, so fold an inch under the pan rim or weigh the corners with the food.

Silicone-coated roll stock takes 450°F; Quilon and unbleached take 420°F. Release is the same as a sheet of the same stock. A roll length survives two or three bakes on silicone and one on Quilon.

On the bench it is a dusting surface. Flour sits on it, dough does not grab it, and the whole run rolls up with the trimmings inside when you are done. Check the heat limits by parchment type before a high-heat job.

Which roll width matches your pans and bench?

Width is the decision; length is only a question of volume.

Typical rollCoversWhere it earns its place
12 in × 164 ftQuarter sheet pans, loaf pans, wrapsSmall kitchen, wrap counter
15 in × 164 ftHalf sheet pans, cake drumsThe usual pick; one roll for most pans
18 in × 500 ftFull sheet pans across the short sideBakery bench, high-volume line
24 in × 1,000 ftFull sheet pans edge to edge, bench runsProduction bakery, commissary

A 15 in roll torn at 20 in covers a half sheet pan with an inch each side. A 24 in roll covers an 18 × 26 in full pan with no trimming. Other widths are a custom slit; tell us the pan. The pan and sheet size chart lists more pans and dimensions.

Stock and coating on a roll

Every combination that comes as a sheet comes as a roll.

  • Bleached white, silicone: the all-purpose kitchen roll for pans, benches and anything that bakes.
  • Unbleached, silicone: the same job in a kraft tone, for kitchens that show the paper at the pass.
  • Bleached white, Quilon: single-use lining and wrap at a lower cost, still fine for a reheat.
  • Unbleached, Quilon: wrap stations, butcher-style counters and basket liners that are thrown out after one use.
  • Silicone both sides: a roll used for layering, interleaving or a two-sided grill wrap.

The guide to silicone, Quilon and unbleached explains the trade-offs.

Can parchment paper rolls be printed?

Yes, in a repeat. A roll prints as a continuous step-and-repeat along its length, so the logo appears every few inches however the paper is torn. A single logo per piece is not possible on a roll; order sheets for that.

One color on unbleached, up to four on white. Keep the repeat small enough that a torn 12 in wrap shows at least one whole logo. A 3 in mark every 4 in is a safe starting point; the proof shows exactly where the marks fall.

Send vector artwork and a Pantone number. Inks are food-safe soy and water-based, printed on the face that turns away from the food, and a free proof shows the repeat laid out before the run. The guide to printing logos on parchment covers artwork setup.

Dispenser cartons and cutting a straight edge

The second photo shows a roll in its carton. The carton is the dispenser: the roll stays in, the paper pulls out over the edge, and the lid holds it from unwinding.

For a clean tear, pull the length, fold it over the carton edge and crease hard, then pull down. For a square cut on a bench run, a straightedge and a wheel cutter beat scissors.

Wall-mounted dispensers with a serrated bar take 12 and 15 in rolls. For 18 in and 24 in rolls, a bench-end roll holder or a cut-down carton works. Ask on the quote and we pack to suit. If you already own a dispenser, send its inside width and we confirm the roll fits before it ships.

What is the minimum order for a parchment roll?

One roll. There is no 1,000-piece minimum on rolls because a roll is already hundreds of sheets' worth of paper.

A single roll suits a trial before a sheet order, or a kitchen that lines pans a few times a day. Several rolls of one width quote lower per roll, and mixing widths in one order is fine.

Printed rolls carry the same one-roll minimum, though the repeat setup makes more sense from a few rolls up. A plain roll needs no proof, so it moves straight from the approved quote into production.

Mistakes to avoid with roll parchment

Rolls are forgiving, but these come up.

  • Buying 12 in for a half sheet pan. It leaves bare metal down both sides and the drips burn on.
  • Tearing a length and laying it curl-up. The ends lift in a fan oven and shade the bake.
  • Storing a roll on its end in a damp corner; the bottom edge wicks moisture and wrinkles.
  • Running Quilon roll stock twice. One bake and it goes to the bin.
  • Ordering a 1,000 ft roll for a kitchen that uses a few feet a day; it will sit for a year.

How to order parchment paper rolls

Parchment Paper Rolls questions

How many sheets' worth is a 164 ft parchment paper roll?

Torn at 16 in for a half sheet pan, about 120 lengths. Torn at 24 in for a full pan, about 80.

Do parchment paper rolls come unbleached as well as white?

Yes, both stocks are wound as rolls in every typical width. The unbleached roll is the kraft-tone one in the first photo.

Can parchment paper rolls be slit to a custom width?

Yes, any width is a custom slit. Tell us the pan or bench measurement and we match it on the quote.

Is one roll really the minimum for parchment paper rolls?

Yes, one roll. That makes a single roll a sensible trial before committing to a sheet run.

Are parchment paper rolls priced per sheet or per roll?

Per roll. The quote lists each width and length as its own line so you can compare them.

Can I print my logo along a parchment paper roll?

Yes, as a step-and-repeat that runs the whole length. A single logo per torn piece is only possible on cut sheets.

Will a parchment paper roll fit a wall dispenser?

The 12 in and 15 in rolls fit most serrated-bar wall dispensers. The 18 in and 24 in rolls are better on a bench holder or pulled from the carton.

How do I stop parchment paper off the roll curling in the oven?

Lay it coated side down, smooth it once by hand and tuck an inch under the pan rim. The weight of the food holds the rest.

What heat do parchment paper rolls take?

Silicone-coated rolls take 450°F; Quilon-coated and unbleached rolls take about 420°F. None of them go under a broiler or over a flame.

Can parchment paper rolls be used on a smoker or grill?

Only on indirect heat below the paper's limit, with no contact with the element or flame. Wrapping a rested brisket is fine; lining a grate over coals is not.

How are parchment paper rolls packed for delivery?

One roll per carton, wound on a core, with a dispenser carton if you ask for it on the quote. Cartons travel flat in the shipping case.

Which parchment paper roll width covers a full sheet pan?

The 24 in roll covers an 18 × 26 in pan edge to edge. The 18 in roll covers it across the short side with a little bare rim.
